Watch: turning a plain-English brief into a qualified UK prospect list

The idea behind Firmbase is simple: describe your ideal customer in plain English and it finds your best-fit UK companies for you. No filters to wrestle with, no manual research. I recorded a short walkthrough that shows exactly how that works, end to end.

    The example

In the video I play the part of an infosec consultant looking for London software and IT companies that lack a recognised security certification, the kind of gap that's almost impossible to filter for on a normal database. It's a good test, because the qualifying question isn't in any structured field anywhere; it has to be researched.

    What you'll see

    • You type your ICP in plain English. No query builder, no checkboxes. Firmbase reads what you wrote and asks a few smart qualifying questions to narrow the audience before it goes to work.
    • It splits your brief into two kinds of criteria. Hard filters that can be matched against structured data (employee count, sector, location) and research questions that can't (does this company lack ISO 27001 or SOC 2?).
    • An AI research agent runs against every company. It checks the live web for evidence, scores each company against your criteria, then drops the non-matches automatically so you never see them.
    • You're left with a qualified list. Each company comes with its financial health pulled from Companies House balance sheets, plus enough detail to walk into a sales call already prepared.

    The result

You end up with a ranked list of companies actually worth reaching out to, not a raw export you have to clean up yourself. Because it's built on UK Companies House data, every UK company is in scope from the start.

    Try it yourself

You can run the same workflow on your own ICP at firmbase.co. If you give it a go, I'd genuinely value your honest feedback.
