D2C Companies in London: 600+ Active Firms (2026)
D2C companies in London sell products directly to consumers through owned digital channels and fulfilment operations across the capital.
Commercial control tends to sit with ecommerce trading, performance marketing, fulfilment, customer experience and finance, rather than central procurement. End customers are consumers, but the operating model creates B2B buying needs around acquisition costs, conversion, stock availability, returns and support quality. The clearest categories are consumer retail, subscription commerce, digitally native brands and omnichannel direct selling with material UK revenue. Supplier engagements usually look like retained marketing, commerce tooling, logistics, payment acceptance or service operations for mid-market teams and larger consumer operators, not public-sector contracts or enterprise software roll-outs.
London has 664 actively trading D2C companies, giving the capital a sizeable but still selective cohort rather than a broad retail universe. Reported employment totals 3,994 people across the firms reporting headcount, which points to a mix of lean brand teams and larger operational employers. Revenue concentration is visible: 80 companies report turnover above £5M, while 50 were incorporated since 2022. The shape is therefore mature enough for sizeable account targeting, but still contains a recent-founder tail.
Direct sales bring regulatory exposure beyond shopfront retail. Distance-selling duties, cancellation rights, refund handling, advertising claims, product safety and privacy controls all affect how these businesses trade, especially where subscription commerce or repeat purchasing is part of the model. Market structure is shaped by intermediaries even when the customer relationship is owned: search advertising, paid social, payment acceptance, warehousing, delivery and returns providers sit between the brand and the consumer. London operators with material UK revenue therefore tend to carry both retail compliance work and operational supplier risk.
Margin pressure appears to be the main organising theme. Paid acquisition has been less forgiving, while fulfilment, returns and customer service remain difficult to treat as variable costs once a brand reaches mid-market scale. Scale-up scarcity tends to favour operators with repeat-purchase behaviour, clearer inventory discipline and enough operational depth to manage sales channels. Consolidation looks more likely to involve brand portfolios, asset purchases and shared operating platforms than a wave of headline mergers. Smaller firms may still persist where founder-led product, community or category expertise offsets weaker buying power.

Key facts
About 12% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (80 of 664 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
7% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (50 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London D2C firms sell through owned digital channels rather than relying on wholesale distribution.
The model brings brand, ecommerce, customer retention and fulfilment decisions into the same operating unit.
Fulfilment models vary, with some operators outsourcing production or logistics while others keep more customer-operations work in-house.
Owned digital channels give investors and commercial teams a closer view of consumer demand than wholesale-led distribution models.

How London D2C companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
D2C operators earn revenue by selling consumer goods through owned online channels, often with repeat purchases, bundles, subscriptions or limited drops layered on top of standard product margin. Supplier pricing usually follows the operating lever being improved: retained fees for performance marketing and creative, licence tiers for commerce and customer tools, per-order charges for fulfilment and returns, and transaction fees for payments or fraud screening. The product shape is rarely just a storefront; most operators combine merchandising, stock planning, acquisition, customer support and post-purchase operations into one trading cycle.
Who they sell to
End buyers are consumers, usually acquired through search, paid social, email, referrals, affiliates and owned content rather than a field-sales motion. When these firms buy B2B services, decisions typically sit with founders, ecommerce directors, heads of growth, operations leads, finance teams and customer experience managers. Lower-risk tools may enter through self-serve trials or monthly plans, while fulfilment, payment, finance and agency contracts tend to involve direct sales, references and commercial due diligence. Sales cycles are often shorter than enterprise software, but lengthen when margin, stock flow or customer data are affected.
What they buy
Most London D2C firms tend to spend on commerce tooling, performance marketing services, CRM, email and messaging, customer support software, analytics, payment acceptance, fraud checks, subscriptions, inventory planning, order management, warehouse management and returns handling. Operational suppliers matter as much as software: fulfilment partners, packaging, freight, last-mile delivery, product testing, accounting, tax, legal, recruitment and customer service outsourcing all compete for budget. Larger teams may also buy data warehousing, attribution modelling, privacy controls, finance automation and HR systems once trading complexity starts to outgrow founder-led spreadsheets and agency reports.
Why and how to sell to them
D2C buyers tend to evaluate suppliers when acquisition costs rise, return rates increase, a subscription offer is launched, a new category is added, fulfilment is moved, or finance leadership asks for cleaner margin visibility. Headcount growth in ecommerce, operations, customer experience or finance can be a useful intent signal, as can warehouse change, international shipping, new payment methods or a shift from founder-led buying to functional ownership. Outbound angles usually work better when tied to gross margin, stock availability, repeat purchase, refund leakage or customer response time rather than broad claims about growth.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
