B2C Companies in London: 15,000+ Active Firms (2026)
B2C companies in London sell products and services directly to consumers across retail, leisure, media, finance and digital markets.
Buying centres usually sit with commercial, operations and customer teams rather than technical procurement alone. Retail and hospitality operators tend to buy around merchandising, bookings, payments and fulfilment, while media, subscription and marketplace models care more about acquisition costs, retention and audience conversion. The customer base is individual consumers, but sales motions vary: high-volume, low-ticket purchases, recurring memberships, regulated personal-finance journeys and higher-value discretionary spend all appear in the same broad cohort. Engagements are often mixed-channel, with online, mobile and physical-location models sitting alongside businesses that still rely on London footfall.
London has 15,550 actively trading consumer-facing companies in this list, giving the capital a sizeable pool of retail, leisure, media, finance and digital operators selling into UK consumer markets. Reported employment totals 9,616 people, although that footprint should be read as a visible headcount measure rather than a full labour-market census. The cohort spans lean online operators, location-based service businesses and higher-turnover consumer brands. That mix matters for researchers: revenue scale, distribution channel and operational intensity can differ sharply even where the end customer is the same individual household buyer.
Consumer-facing models carry conduct risk before they reach visible scale. Pricing clarity, refunds, subscription cancellation journeys, delivery promises, complaints handling and the treatment of vulnerable customers all shape operating practice. London firms selling personal finance products face a different compliance burden from those selling leisure, media or retail goods, but the common thread is direct exposure to individual consumers rather than business procurement teams. Mixed-channel operators also have to align online terms with in-store or venue-based service delivery, which can make consumer operations more process-heavy than the simplicity of a retail-facing description suggests.
Early-commercial businesses appear to make up much of the long tail, while scaled consumer operators tend to be scarcer and more operationally complex. Margin pressure, paid-acquisition costs and higher consumer expectations are likely to keep pushing firms towards repeat-purchase models, loyalty mechanics and tighter fulfilment control. Subscription and marketplace formats may continue to appeal where they reduce demand volatility, but cancellation rules and customer-service standards limit how far friction can be built into the model. Consolidation looks plausible in categories where brand, logistics and customer ownership matter more than novelty.

Key facts
About 5% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (902 of 15,550 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
9% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (1,472 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London B2C operators sell directly to households across retail, leisure, media, finance and digital markets.
Revenue exposure tends to sit closer to household demand than to enterprise procurement cycles.
Pricing, repeat purchasing and customer acquisition are central comparison points for consumer-facing models.
Consumer finance and media models can look operationally leaner than leisure, retail and service businesses that own more delivery activity.

How London B2C companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
London B2C companies usually earn revenue one purchase, booking, subscription or transaction at a time. Retailers and consumer brands make money from product margin, delivery fees and repeat orders; hospitality and leisure operators sell capacity, reservations and add-ons; media, membership and digital-service models rely on recurring payments, advertising, commissions or audience conversion. Marketplaces tend to take a percentage of each transaction, while personal-finance journeys may earn through fees, interest or referral economics. Pricing is often visible to the consumer, so margin depends less on negotiated contract value and more on acquisition cost, basket size, payment completion, fulfilment and customer-service leakage.
Who they sell to
Their end buyers are individuals and households, so most sales cycles are measured in clicks, visits, applications or bookings rather than procurement stages. Low-ticket retail and media purchases are often self-serve and impulse-led, while higher-value leisure, subscription, finance or discretionary categories involve more comparison, trust-building and post-sale support. Inside the company, commercial decisions typically sit with founders, managing directors, heads of growth, marketing directors, operations leads and finance teams. Technology or service vendors selling into this market usually encounter a practical buying group: the person accountable for revenue, the person accountable for delivery, and someone watching cash conversion.
What they buy
Most London consumer operators tend to spend on systems and services that lift demand, process transactions and keep the customer journey under control. Common categories include CRM, customer data tooling, marketing automation, loyalty, e-commerce, booking, payments, fraud screening, subscription management, customer support, analytics and finance software. Operators with physical locations also buy point-of-sale systems, workforce scheduling, stock management, facilities services, local marketing and recruitment support. Marketplace and digital-service firms may add moderation, identity checks, data infrastructure and security. Legal, accounting and compliance services matter where refunds, privacy, promotions, consumer credit, employment or property obligations create avoidable risk.
Why and how to sell to them
B2C buyers tend to evaluate vendors when growth exposes friction: paid acquisition becomes too expensive, repeat purchase is weak, customer complaints rise, payment failure increases or fulfilment starts to miss promised service levels. Other useful triggers include a new channel launch, a move into subscriptions, a venue opening, senior commercial or operations hires, hiring in customer support, or a funding event that shifts attention from testing to execution. Outbound messages usually land better when they connect to one of those pressures in operational terms: lower cost per order, fewer refunds, faster complaint handling, clearer subscription controls, cleaner customer records or better visibility over margin by channel.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
