For B2B suppliers, enterprise CRM sits between sales, marketing, customer success and finance rather than in a single back-office function. Running this stack usually signals a direct sales motion with named accounts, repeatable pipeline stages, and enough customer-contact volume to justify governed account records rather than ad hoc spreadsheets. The fit is clearest where deals involve several stakeholders, renewals or service handovers. It also tends to imply some marketing-operations capacity, because website forms, campaign tracking and contact permissions need to join up with the sales record.

The UK adoption picture is a cohort of 778 actively trading B2B companies running this CRM stack. Within detected CRM use across B2B suppliers, the system ranks second, accounting for 18.3% of a 4,258-company category. Adoption is concentrated in London at 37.4%, followed by the South East at 17.5%, the North West at 8.9%, the South West at 6.8% and the East of England at 6.3%. The employers disclosing headcount employ 4,276 people between them, spread across 126 firms.
B2B selling in the UK is not governed by a single sector licence; the relevant rulebook depends on the underlying activity, such as financial services, telecoms, data processing or professional services. Company data
Detected companies are joined to UK Companies House records and XBRL accounts data. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Detection
Firmbase crawls the public website of actively-trading UK companies and fingerprints the technologies present: tracking scripts, embedded forms, chat widgets, CMS markers and similar signatures. A company is included in this list when one or more of the technology's signatures are found on its site; closely-related variants of the same product are grouped under one name. Detection covers what is visible on the public web — a company using the technology purely internally, with no website footprint, will not appear. Counts are therefore a conservative floor, not a ceiling. B2B companies are identified using Firmbase's semantic classification of company activity, built from filings, websites and registered SIC codes rather than SIC codes alone. The detected counts and share figures on this page are computed within that sector cohort, so "share" always means share of B2B companies with a detectable system — not of all UK companies.
Freshness
Websites are re-crawled on a rolling basis and the underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear within days of submission. The list and its statistics are regenerated when the detected cohort moves meaningfully. You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
