Managed Comms Companies in London: 300+ Active Firms (2026)
Managed communications companies provide outsourced voice, connectivity and messaging services to business customers across London.
Buying centres sit mainly with IT, operations, procurement and customer-service teams rather than pure software owners. The common customer is a B2B organisation with distributed staff, branch networks, contact-centre demand or hybrid working patterns that make voice and connectivity harder to manage in-house. Engagements tend to be recurring managed-service contracts, with voice estates, data links, messaging workflows and supplier support bundled into an operational relationship. The sector therefore sits closer to outsourced infrastructure and service assurance than to project-based telecoms resale.

London has 341 actively trading managed communications companies. Reported employment across the cohort totals 1,312 people, which points to a market made up largely of specialist teams rather than very large payroll businesses. The capital still matters as a sales and service base: buyers with distributed offices, customer-contact operations and hybrid workforces tend to value local account management, implementation support and service-level escalation. Much of the cohort appears to compete on reliability, integration skills and contract support rather than on owning physical network assets.
Communications services sit in a regulated operating environment even when the provider is mainly a reseller, integrator or managed-service wrapper. Contracting tends to involve service availability, fault response, number portability, call recording, data handling and complaints processes, with more scrutiny where customer-contact traffic is business-critical. Messaging and voice services also bring consent, security and audit expectations into procurement. For London suppliers, the market structure is fragmented: many firms package wholesale connectivity, hosted voice and support around buyer workflows rather than owning every part of the network stack.
Near-term movement appears likely to favour providers that can combine voice, connectivity and collaboration support without forcing buyers to manage separate supplier relationships. The cohort’s shape suggests continued pressure on smaller operators to specialise by customer type, workflow or support model, while larger service providers may keep absorbing firms with loyal contract bases. Margin pressure from commoditised connectivity has been pushing attention towards managed support, integration and assurance. Regulatory and security expectations also tend to raise the cost of serving more complex customers, which may separate lighter resellers from firms with deeper operational capability.

Key facts
About 13% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (47 of 341 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
4% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (17 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London demand is anchored in office-based, regulated and service-sector buyers that prefer contracted provision over owning voice and messaging operations.
Providers tend to sit between network access, telephony, contact-centre operations and business messaging, so procurement often crosses IT, operations and customer-service budgets.
Asset-light resellers and managed service operators can look similar from the outside, but delivery models differ by how much work is staffed internally.

How London managed comms companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Revenue usually comes from recurring service charges wrapped around hosted voice, connectivity, messaging and support. Managed comms providers often charge per user, per site, per channel or per usage band, with implementation, migration and hardware fees added around the edge. The product is part software configuration, part supplier management and part operational support: provisioning numbers, managing data circuits, integrating call flows, monitoring faults and handling service escalations. Better-margin work tends to sit in design, assurance, reporting and support, rather than in the raw connectivity line alone.
Who they sell to
Typical buyers are B2B organisations with multiple offices, mobile staff, contact-centre demand or customer-facing teams that cannot afford patchy communications. IT directors, operations directors, heads of customer service, finance leaders and procurement teams usually share the decision, with technical validation sitting alongside service and cost control. Smaller deals can move through direct sales or partner referrals, while larger estates tend to involve renewal windows, competitive quotes and RFP-style procurement. Sales cycles are usually shorter for single-site voice changes and longer where number migration, business continuity or contact-centre workflows are involved.
What they buy
Most managed comms firms tend to spend on systems that reduce manual service work and make recurring revenue easier to administer. Relevant categories include CRM, quoting, billing, contract management, service-desk tooling, network monitoring, call analytics, customer reporting, security controls, identity management and finance systems. Operational spend often includes cloud hosting, data storage, device logistics, installation partners, engineering contractors and recruitment for sales, support and implementation roles. Marketing and lead-generation suppliers may also fit, although many providers care more about account retention, renewal timing and referral-led pipeline than broad demand generation.
Why and how to sell to them
Managed comms buyers tend to evaluate vendors when manual provisioning starts slowing delivery, billing disputes rise, service tickets become harder to triage, or customer contracts demand clearer reporting. Other useful signals include a new operations or commercial leader, support headcount growth, a multi-site customer win, an acquisition, or a renewal push into larger accounts. Outbound angles usually land better when tied to margin leakage, service-level risk, customer churn or faster quote-to-cash, rather than generic productivity claims. The practical pitch is about reducing operational friction while preserving the customer relationship that sits at the centre of the managed-service model.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
