Low-carbon heating companies design, install and service heat pumps and related systems for homes and buildings across London.
Buying responsibility tends to sit with retrofit teams, housing operators, developers, facilities managers and public-estate decarbonisation leads, rather than through a purely consumer channel. London installers serving this market usually sell survey-led, project-priced work: design, permissions support, electrical and plumbing integration, commissioning, and maintenance. Domestic retrofit remains visible, but the more researchable buyers are landlords, managing agents, construction groups and public-sector estates that need accredited delivery, grant paperwork and post-installation servicing. Engagements are therefore closer to contracted building works than software-style subscriptions, with trust built around installer certification, engineer availability and the ability to coordinate trades on occupied sites.

The capital's demand base is mixed: owner-occupied homes, social housing, private-rented blocks, commercial property and public estates all create different procurement routes. For researchers, the useful distinction is often not technology type but delivery capacity — whether a firm can handle surveys, controls, electrics, plumbing, grant administration and aftercare without passing too much of the work to subcontractors.
Support policy in England and Wales centres on the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, with Ofgem administering grant claims and installer compliance. Eligible heat-pump installations have to be delivered by certified installers, which makes accreditation, commissioning evidence and customer paperwork part of the operating model rather than an optional back-office task. The Clean Heat Market Mechanism also shifts some pressure upstream by requiring heating-appliance suppliers to acquire low-carbon-heating credits relative to boiler sales. Firms that can pair heat design with maintenance and grant administration are likely to be easier for institutional buyers to specify.
