IT Integration Companies in the UK: 4,145 Active Firms (2026)
IT integration companies in the UK connect business applications, infrastructure and data flows for public and private-sector organisations.
Buying centres tend to sit with CIO and CTO teams, enterprise architecture, operations technology, finance transformation and public-sector digital programmes. The commercial model is usually services-led: discovery, integration design, migration, testing, run support and managed operations wrapped around application and infrastructure estates. Buyers are mainly mid-market, enterprise, public-sector and regulated organisations, where contracts involve multi-workstream delivery, supplier coordination and ongoing service responsibility rather than a standalone software sale. Smaller specialists still appear, but the natural centre of gravity is a delivery organisation able to put consultants, engineers and support staff around a live change programme.
Across the UK, 4,145 IT integration companies are actively trading, a sizeable base for a market that depends on enterprise change programmes and public-sector technology estates. The employment footprint is more concentrated than the company count suggests: firms reporting headcount account for 5,969 people, reflecting delivery teams often assembled around projects, support desks and managed operations. That leaves a long tail of consultancies and project-led specialists alongside a smaller set of firms with the revenue profile expected for national integration work.
Procurement and assurance matter as much as technical fit, particularly where programmes touch public-sector estates or regulated operating environments. Buyers tend to ask for evidence of delivery governance, security controls, service continuity and auditability before large migration or integration work is awarded. The market structure also favours providers that can combine consulting, implementation and managed operations, because integration failure is usually an operational risk rather than a feature gap. That gives incumbent service relationships some weight, while leaving room for specialists with credible migration, data-integration or network-integration delivery capacity.
Demand appears tied less to new system buying than to the hard work of making existing estates interoperable. Integration firms tend to benefit when organisations rationalise applications, move workloads, replace legacy processes or bring operational data into reporting and automation layers. Margin pressure has been a recurring issue, since buyers can separate architecture, delivery and support across different suppliers. Consolidation therefore looks plausible among firms with repeat public-sector or enterprise delivery credentials, while smaller consultancies may remain viable where domain knowledge or local service relationships matter more than scale.

Key facts
About 8% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (335 of 4,145 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
6% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (290 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
IT integration work joins business applications, infrastructure and data flows for public and private-sector organisations.
The segment sits between software delivery, managed services and consultancy, so supplier models tend to mix project delivery with longer-running support.
Buyers tend to use integration partners when fragmented systems need to exchange information or legacy platforms need to connect with newer tools.
Procurement often favours firms able to act as a single implementation partner rather than several narrower specialist contractors.

How UK IT Integration companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Revenue is usually earned through project delivery and recurring service responsibility rather than licences alone. Typical engagements combine advisory work, architecture, configuration, migration, testing, change management and post-go-live support, with pricing built from day rates, fixed-price work packages, milestone payments and managed-service retainers. Many firms also resell or implement third-party software and infrastructure, but the margin often sits in making heterogeneous systems work inside a buyer’s existing estate. Commercial risk is tied to delivery scope, acceptance criteria, service levels and the quality of handover from project teams into support.
Who they sell to
Most sell to organisations with complex application, data or infrastructure estates: mid-market firms with ageing systems, large enterprises with multi-supplier environments, public-sector bodies and regulated operators. The buying group typically includes CIOs, CTOs, enterprise architects, programme directors, heads of operations, CISOs, finance transformation leads and procurement teams. Sales cycles tend to run through workshops, scoping, security review, commercial negotiation and procurement, rather than a self-serve motion. Larger opportunities often arrive through tenders, framework agreements, incumbent supplier relationships or partner-led referrals, with direct sales still important where a specialist capability is being sought.
What they buy
Most IT integration firms tend to spend on tools and services that improve utilisation, delivery control and customer assurance. Common internal categories include CRM, bid management, professional-services automation, time capture, project accounting, resource planning, service management, contract management, finance systems and HR software. Delivery teams also buy cloud hosting, test environments, monitoring, observability, identity and access management, endpoint security, backup, disaster recovery, data integration tooling and documentation platforms. External spend often covers cyber certification support, legal review, specialist recruitment, contractor management, insurance, account-based marketing and analyst relations where firms are trying to enter larger procurement processes.
Why and how to sell to them
IT integration buyers tend to evaluate vendors when delivery pressure exposes a constraint: rising utilisation, project overruns, support backlogs, security questionnaires, audit demands or difficulty staffing specialist skills. Other triggers include a new framework win, a move into managed operations, leadership change in delivery or commercial teams, and a run of larger enterprise or public-sector bids. Outbound works better when it links to margin, governance and delivery risk rather than abstract productivity. Useful angles include reducing non-billable administration, shortening bid cycles, proving security controls, improving handover into support, or giving managers clearer visibility of project profitability.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
