B2B Companies in London: 23,000+ Active Firms (2026)
B2B companies sell products and services to other organisations, with this London cohort spanning suppliers across services, technology and trade.
Buying centres tend to sit with commercial, finance, operations, procurement and technology teams rather than consumer-facing marketing alone. London-based B2B suppliers in this cohort sell into corporate, public-sector and professional buyers, with sales motions ranging from account-managed services to subscriptions, platform access, specialist advisory work and trade supply. Engagements are usually justified through risk reduction, revenue generation, cost control or access to scarce expertise. The buyer side is mixed: SMEs may buy packaged support or outsourced functions, while mid-market and enterprise customers tend to require procurement checks, service levels, security evidence and contract governance before spend is approved.
London has 23,249 actively trading B2B companies in this list, making the capital a sizeable marketplace for suppliers that rely on repeat corporate purchasing rather than consumer demand. Reported employment totals 24,051 people, with headcount present for 126 of 126 firms, so the visible labour footprint is not confined to owner-managed consultancies. Scale is uneven: 2,687 companies have turnover above £5M, while 2,114 have been incorporated since 2022, leaving a long tail of established providers alongside newer entrants testing narrower commercial propositions.
Regulation follows the activity rather than the B2B label. A supplier carrying on financial services, telecoms, data processing or regulated professional work faces the rulebook for that activity, while business marketing sits across ICO guidance, PECR and UK GDPR. The practical distinction matters for sales teams: electronic mail to corporate subscribers does not need PECR consent, but the sender still has to identify itself and provide an opt-out route. Business-contact data remains personal data where an identifiable person is involved, and live marketing calls need screening against preference lists and previous objections.
Commercial pressure appears likely to favour business suppliers that can evidence shorter payback, lower operational risk or clearer compliance control. The cohort is broad, so consolidation will not look uniform: outsourced services, specialist consultancies and software-enabled providers tend to face different buyer scrutiny and margin pressure. Early-commercial entrants may find procurement harder as customers rationalise vendors and ask for tighter proof around data handling, delivery capacity and sector knowledge. At the same time, London remains a useful base for account-led selling because buyers, advisers and finance providers are close together, even if that proximity does not remove the burden of differentiation.

Key facts
About 11% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (2,687 of 23,249 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
9% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (2,114 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
B2B is not a single licensed industry in the UK; obligations follow the underlying activity, such as financial services, telecoms, data processing or professional services.
The ICO says PECR covers direct marketing by live or automated calls, electronic mail and fax.
Live B2B marketing calls must be screened against CTPS and TPS, and businesses that have objected must not be called.
ONS reported 2.73 million VAT and/or PAYE businesses as of March 2025, up 0.4% from March 2024.
DBT estimated 5.5 million private-sector businesses at the start of 2024, with SMEs accounting for 99.8% of the private-sector business population.

How London B2B companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
London B2B suppliers usually earn through repeat commercial relationships rather than one-off consumer volume. Revenue models include subscriptions for software and information services, retainers for outsourced functions, project fees for advisory or implementation work, usage-based charges for platforms, and margin on trade supply or distribution. Low-friction offers may be packaged around monthly fees, per-seat access or standard service bundles, while larger mandates tend to be contracted through annual agreements, statements of work or managed-service terms. The common thread is measurable business utility: helping customers win revenue, reduce operating burden, manage compliance, source specialist capacity or procure goods that sit inside their own delivery chain.
Who they sell to
Most London B2B firms sell to SMEs, mid-market companies, enterprise groups, public-sector bodies or professional practices, with the buyer changing by offer type. Finance directors, operations leaders, commercial directors, CTOs, procurement teams and practice partners are typical stakeholders; legal and information-security reviewers often appear before signature on larger contracts. Smaller deals may close through founder-led sales, referrals, self-serve ordering or a short direct-sales process. Larger contracts more often involve account management, partner introductions, procurement portals, security questionnaires, service-level terms and contract negotiation. Public-sector work can move through frameworks or tender processes, so timing and proof of prior delivery matter.
What they buy
Most B2B suppliers tend to spend on systems and services that help them sell, deliver and evidence performance to their own customers. Common software categories include CRM, billing, finance operations, customer support, marketing automation, sales intelligence, analytics, workflow tools, cyber security, identity management, cloud hosting and HR systems. Services spend often covers accountancy, tax, legal review, information-security assessment, recruitment, outsourced marketing, bid support, public relations and specialist consulting. Providers with account-managed revenue may also buy enablement, proposal tooling, call recording, forecasting and customer-success support. Firms handling business-contact data may need help with consent management, retention policies and UK GDPR processes.
Why and how to sell to them
B2B companies tend to evaluate vendors when customer acquisition costs rise, renewal rates weaken, procurement demands more evidence, or delivery teams struggle to service larger accounts. Other useful signals include a new finance, commercial or technology leader, recent hiring across sales or operations, a move from project work to recurring contracts, entry into regulated customer segments, or a need to formalise data-handling and marketing processes. Outbound works better when it links to a specific commercial constraint: shorter payback, cleaner reporting, fewer manual checks, lower compliance risk, faster onboarding or better conversion of existing pipeline. Generic efficiency claims usually need proof before they travel far.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
