Broadband Companies in London: 400+ Active Firms (2026)
Broadband companies build, operate and resell fixed internet and cable connectivity, with this cohort based across London.
Commercial demand tends to sit with property teams, IT managers, facilities managers and channel partners rather than a uniform technology buyer. London operators in this cohort usually sell recurring access, installation and managed connectivity around offices, residential blocks, public sites and local business estates. Engagements range from individual premises installs to portfolio-wide landlord contracts and wholesale or reseller arrangements, with support, uptime and customer premises equipment often bundled into the relationship. The buyer profile is therefore mixed: household-facing providers need local service density, while business and wholesale providers depend more on service-level assurance, installation capacity and contract renewals.
London has 487 actively trading broadband companies in this cohort, making it a relatively concentrated list rather than a national roll-up. Reported employment totals 960 people, which points to a market with many specialist service providers and a smaller number of employers with larger operating teams. Turnover scale is also uneven, with 11 reporting more than £5M, so the list is not just micro-resellers, but neither is it dominated by large infrastructure owners. The capital’s density matters because local customer acquisition, installation scheduling and landlord access can decide whether recurring contracts are economical.
Fixed connectivity sits in a rule-bound operating context even when the provider is asset-light. Household-facing services carry expectations around contract clarity, complaints handling, service restoration and switching, while business connectivity is more often governed through service-level terms, installation windows and penalties for downtime. Network build and upgrade work also depends on permissions, street works coordination and access to multi-tenant buildings, which can be harder to secure in dense London locations. For resellers and wholesale users, the key commercial exposure is often upstream capacity pricing and fault resolution rather than direct ownership of ducts or fibre.
The cohort appears likely to stay fragmented, with asset-light resellers, installation-led specialists and operators with some network ownership sitting alongside each other. Early-commercial providers can enter through niche geographies or channel relationships, but moving beyond local density tends to require repeatable installation processes, dependable support and access to wholesale capacity on workable terms. Consolidation may therefore be more attractive where providers share borough coverage, landlord relationships or customer types. Competitive pressure is likely to come less from novel software and more from service reliability, pricing discipline and the ability to handle faults without losing customers.

Key facts
About 2% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (11 of 487 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
24% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (118 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
Fixed broadband activity spans infrastructure-owning operators, cable and fixed-line providers, and resellers of internet connectivity.
London concentrates buyers with dense connectivity needs, including households, offices and multi-site businesses.
Reseller-led models mean some broadband companies sell connectivity without owning the underlying network assets.

How London broadband companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Revenue usually combines recurring connectivity fees with installation charges, equipment supply, maintenance and managed support. Household-facing offers are closer to monthly subscription contracts, while business and landlord-led work often bundles access, service-level cover, customer premises equipment and engineer call-outs. Asset-light providers make margin on wholesale capacity and support, whereas operators with their own network footprint have heavier build, maintenance and access costs. A single-premises order can be low-touch, but portfolio deals usually depend on site surveys, wayleave permissions, installation planning and a clear handover from sales into operations.
Who they sell to
Buyers vary by route to market. Residential providers typically sell through local direct marketing, comparison-led demand and referral channels, while business connectivity is more likely to involve IT managers, operations directors, facilities managers and procurement teams. Landlord and managing-agent work brings property directors and building managers into the decision. Public sites and larger commercial estates tend to use formal procurement or RFP-style processes, with longer cycles and more emphasis on service levels. Smaller business contracts can close through inside sales, but wholesale and partner-led arrangements usually need account management, technical scoping and renewal discipline.
What they buy
Spend tends to follow the operational path from order capture to installation, billing and fault handling. Broadband firms commonly need CRM, billing, payment collection, customer support, ticketing, field-service scheduling, workforce management and customer-portal software. Network-facing teams may buy monitoring, observability, security, cloud hosting, inventory tools, asset management and reporting systems to track availability and engineer activity. Service providers also use finance and accounting support, recruitment for technical and customer-service roles, local marketing, contract review and legal help around landlord access agreements. London operators with mixed residential and business demand often value tools that connect sales promises to installation capacity.
Why and how to sell to them
Commercial intent often shows up when providers add borough coverage, sign a landlord or wholesale arrangement, bring support in house, hire engineers, or see rising ticket volumes and missed installation windows. Common pain points include churn after service faults, manual billing, weak visibility over engineer schedules, margin pressure from upstream capacity costs and slow resolution where several parties touch the same connection. Outbound angles tend to land better when they speak to fewer failed appointments, faster cash collection, clearer service-level reporting or lower support workload. Operations, finance and commercial leaders are usually better entry points than a generic technology contact.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
