Telecoms Infra Companies in London: 600+ Active Firms (2026)
Telecoms infrastructure companies in London build and operate fibre, wireless and network assets for carriers, enterprises and public-sector sites.
Buying activity tends to sit with network procurement, property and estates teams, public-sector digital estates, transport operators and enterprise network managers. Customer relationships are usually B2B or public-sector, with wholesale buyers using specialist providers for site delivery, carrier interconnect, maintenance and managed infrastructure rather than consumer telecoms services. Engagements range from survey, installation and remedial works to framework-style build and operations contracts across multi-site estates. The commercial friction is practical: permits, wayleaves, field-engineering capacity and service-level performance determine whether projects move from planned network coverage to live, billable assets.
London has 689 actively trading telecoms infrastructure companies in this list, spanning specialist engineering firms, asset-owning network operators and managed connectivity providers. The reported workforce totals 1,434 people, which points to a sizeable long tail of small field teams rather than a labour base concentrated in a few employers. Revenue scale is also concentrated, with 29 reporting turnover above £5M; the largest companies on the page should therefore be read as revenue-ranked operators and contractors, not necessarily as those with the broadest physical network footprint.
Urban deployment is shaped by access rights as much as by network demand. London work tends to involve wayleaves with landlords and occupiers, local permits for street or building works, and service-level obligations once assets are live. Carrier and public-sector buyers also expect auditable maintenance processes, incident response and continuity planning because network failures affect multiple dependent sites. Where firms own assets rather than only install them, commercial risk shifts towards utilisation, tenancy agreements and longer payback periods.
The cohort appears split between engineering-led contractors and asset-owning operators, which points to uneven margins and sales cycles. Growth tends to favour firms that can secure repeat access to estates, manage field capacity and keep service performance visible to wholesale and enterprise buyers. Smaller installers may remain exposed to stop-start project work, while asset owners face the slower economics of urban build-out. Consolidation appears plausible where fragmented maintenance, civil works and network-operation capability can be folded into broader managed-connectivity contracts.

Key facts
About 4% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (29 of 689 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
22% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (155 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London concentrates network buyers, landlords, transport sites and public authorities, which makes local delivery capacity relevant to national carriers and systems integrators.
The market mixes fibre build and maintenance, wireless-site contracting, network engineering consultancy and asset ownership.
Subcontracted field delivery and project vehicles appear alongside conventional engineering employers, especially where asset-heavy models are involved.

How London telecoms infrastructure companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Revenue usually comes from a mix of project fees, recurring maintenance retainers, managed connectivity charges and, for asset owners, rental or wholesale access income. Contractor-led firms price work around scopes of work, field days, materials and agreed service levels; asset-owning operators tend to carry more upfront build cost and recover it through tenancy, access or managed-service agreements. The offer is not pure software: it combines civil works, fibre or wireless engineering, network operations, spares logistics and monitoring. Gross margin therefore depends on utilisation of engineers, subcontractor control, repeatable estate access and low fault volumes after handover.
Who they sell to
Most sell into carriers, enterprise estates, property portfolios, transport networks and public-sector connectivity programmes, with decision-making split between technical, commercial and estates functions. A typical opportunity may start with a network planner or property manager, then move through procurement, legal review and budget approval from a CTO, operations director or finance lead. Small works can be bought directly from approved suppliers, while wider roll-outs usually run through frameworks, tenders or prime-contractor channels. Sales cycles tend to be slower where access agreements, landlord consent or public procurement rules sit between the technical need and the purchase order.
What they buy
Most telecoms infrastructure firms tend to spend on field-service scheduling, workforce management, asset registers, mapping, network monitoring, incident management and contractor coordination. Firms with recurring managed-service revenue also need billing, ticketing, customer reporting, security controls and contract-management systems that can handle service levels, change requests and renewals. Engineering-heavy operators buy vehicles, test equipment, spares storage, health-and-safety training, insurance, specialist recruitment and subcontractor support. Legal and property services matter where wayleaves, leases and access disputes slow deployments, while finance teams may value cost control across materials, labour, civils packages and maintenance obligations.
Why and how to sell to them
Commercial intent often appears when firms win a new framework, add field teams, move from installation-only work into managed operations, or start carrying more assets on their own balance sheet. Other triggers include a new operations director, repeated service-level penalties, safety incidents, aged ticket queues or visible hiring for network operations and project delivery. Sellers usually get further with operational claims than with broad productivity language: fewer repeat site visits, cleaner handover packs, faster permit and wayleave tracking, clearer subcontractor accountability, or clearer evidence for carrier and public-sector audits. Messages should recognise that downtime, access delays and underused assets all turn into margin leakage.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
