Cloud Computing Companies in London: 1,900+ Active Firms (2026)
Cloud computing companies in London provide hosted infrastructure, platforms and software services for organisations across the capital.
Buying centres tend to sit with infrastructure and operations teams, platform engineering groups, data leaders and IT-service owners rather than with line-of-business software buyers alone. Typical work ranges from recurring managed-service contracts and hosted application estates to migration, deployment and data-environment retainers. The customer base is mostly business-to-business: enterprise and mid-market organisations, public-sector bodies, and technology-led firms that need cloud capacity or operational support without carrying all of it in-house. Engagements appear commercial rather than experimental, with staffed delivery teams, account management and procurement cycles that resemble IT services as much as subscription software.
The London cohort contains 1,901 actively trading cloud computing companies. Scale is uneven: 126 report turnover above £5M, while 589 were incorporated since 2022, leaving a sizeable early-commercial layer beneath the more established managed-services and platform operators. The reported employment footprint is 2,650 people, with 122 of 122 headcount-reporting firms showing staff. That headcount sits alongside business models that often rely on technical delivery capacity, customer support and continuing operations work, so turnover bands can understate the labour intensity of managed cloud contracts.
Cloud providers do not sit under a dedicated sector regulator, but their customers often do. Personal data hosting brings ICO scrutiny under GDPR, and regulated clients can pass through obligations on audit, retention, subcontractor oversight and operational resilience. Financial services buyers subject to FCA rules tend to demand more evidence on access controls, incident handling and service continuity. Government and health-related buyers add procurement and information-governance hurdles. Market structure therefore favours firms that can document control environments as well as run infrastructure, particularly where managed operations, data processing and business-critical hosting overlap.
Further expansion appears likely to be selective rather than evenly spread. Managed-service operators tend to defend customer relationships through support depth, while platform-engineering and data-operations specialists depend more on technical hiring and partner channels. Smaller firms may find procurement standards harder to meet as clients ask for clearer evidence on security, availability and subcontractor control. Consolidation has been a recurring route for service-led firms that need broader delivery coverage, although specialist providers can still hold ground where domain knowledge matters more than scale. The cohort therefore looks set to remain mixed: many early-commercial operators, fewer scaled independent platforms, and continuing pressure from buyer scrutiny.

Key facts
About 6% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (126 of 1,901 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
30% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (589 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London cloud suppliers serve buying centres in finance, media, professional services and public-facing digital services.
Hosted infrastructure, platform services and software delivery support computing capacity, data storage, application hosting and managed environments.
Procurement tends to split infrastructure and hosting operators from managed cloud service providers, because migration, integration and support work change the delivery model.
Subscription and service contracts are common routes to market for software-led cloud delivery in London.

How London Cloud computing companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
London cloud computing companies usually earn from a blend of recurring managed-service fees, usage-linked hosting margins, licence resale, support retainers and project work around migration or modernisation. The service shape is often hybrid: technical staff design and operate environments, while customers pay for monitoring, backup, deployment pipelines, data platforms and application hosting. Smaller providers may begin with standalone implementation projects before converting accounts into support contracts; more mature operators tend to package service tiers, service-level commitments and account governance. Gross margin depends heavily on how much delivery can be standardised, how cloud consumption is passed through, and whether the firm owns proprietary tooling or mainly provides skilled labour.
Who they sell to
Buyers are usually technology and operations leaders inside mid-market and enterprise organisations, with CFOs and procurement teams entering once spend becomes material or risk controls matter. CTOs, Heads of Infrastructure, Heads of Data, CIOs and service owners tend to sponsor deals where uptime, migration risk or application performance are visible business issues. Typical sales motions mix direct technical selling, partner referrals and formal tenders, particularly for regulated or public-sector customers. Smaller workload moves may start through a discovery workshop or assessment, while larger outsourcing and hosting mandates usually require security questionnaires, commercial negotiation and evidence of delivery capacity before signature.
What they buy
Most London cloud computing firms tend to spend on cloud capacity, security tooling, monitoring, incident management, billing operations, professional indemnity cover, recruitment and technical training. Sales and account teams often need CRM, proposal tooling, customer-success workflows and usage reporting, because renewals depend on service quality as well as price. Delivery teams buy identity management, endpoint security, backup, testing, observability, configuration management and documentation systems. Specialist services can also fit: data-protection advice, contract drafting, certification preparation, finance operations, outsourced marketing and hiring support for platform engineering, security operations and customer support roles. Anything that reduces manual delivery work tends to get attention, provided it does not add governance burden.
Why and how to sell to them
Commercial pressure usually appears when customers ask for more evidence on resilience, security and service continuity, or when a provider moves from project work into recurring managed operations. Hiring for platform engineering, security operations or account management can signal a larger support book, while new public-sector or regulated-sector work tends to trigger spend on compliance, reporting and assurance. Outbound angles work better when tied to a specific operating constraint: margin leakage from unbilled usage, slow incident response, manual onboarding, weak renewal reporting or difficulty proving control standards. Generic cloud-cost messages are common, so sellers need a sharper link to delivery risk, utilisation or procurement readiness.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
