SecOps Companies in London: 100+ Active Firms (2026)
Security operations companies in London monitor, detect and respond to cyber threats for organisations across the capital.
Budgets usually sit with CISOs, heads of infrastructure, risk teams and, in smaller buyers, finance directors who have inherited cyber accountability. The buying centre is mostly B2B, with mid-market firms looking for outsourced alert triage, retained incident coordination and operational evidence rather than broad IT advice. Engagements tend to be recurring service contracts, with onboarding around log sources, escalation rules, service levels and reporting cadence. London buyers are likely to include regulated financial, professional-services and digital businesses, so procurement often tests response process, assurance documentation and the provider’s ability to work alongside internal IT teams.
London has 171 actively trading SecOps companies in this list, giving the capital a sizeable specialist base without implying that every cyber consultancy qualifies as operational security. Reported employment totals 1,074 roles across the cohort, with 85 firms reporting headcount. That footprint points to a market made up mainly of specialist service providers rather than very large employers. The commercial centre of gravity appears to be mid-market delivery: enough staff to cover monitoring, triage and response coordination, but usually not the scale associated with broad outsourced IT operations.
Security operations providers sit between outsourced IT, cyber consultancy and incident response, so regulatory exposure depends heavily on the client base and the services performed. Where monitoring touches personal data, GDPR and ICO expectations shape log retention, access controls, breach handling and evidence transfer. Financial-services clients may also bring FCA operational-resilience requirements into procurement, particularly around incident escalation, supplier oversight and continuity planning. Contracting tends to be more formal than in general IT support, because buyers need clarity on responsibilities during live incidents, access to sensitive systems and the boundary between monitoring advice and accountable operational action.
Demand appears tied less to novelty than to operational credibility. Buyers tend to ask whether providers can reduce alert noise, maintain response discipline and document decisions under pressure. The cohort looks likely to keep favouring specialists with repeatable service processes, sector-specific assurance and credible handover into internal teams. Scale-up scarcity may persist, as building an analyst bench, incident playbooks and customer trust takes time. Consolidation remains plausible where providers need broader coverage across cloud controls, security operations and response, though many firms may continue as focused service businesses rather than platform-led vendors.

Key facts
About 16% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (29 of 171 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
9% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (16 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
Security operations companies sit between in-house security teams and outsourced incident-response capacity.
Day-to-day work typically covers alert triage, threat monitoring and containment.
Buyers often need to read staffing, revenue and operating model separately, rather than treating headcount as a direct proxy for capability.

How London SecOps companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
SecOps firms earn most of their revenue from managed detection, alert triage, incident response retainers and operational security consultancy. Pricing is typically recurring, with service tiers shaped by monitored assets, log volumes, coverage hours, response commitments and reporting cadence. One-off work still matters, particularly onboarding, control reviews, tabletop exercises and post-incident remediation, but it usually feeds a retained relationship rather than a standalone project pipeline. The offer is less a pure software sale than a service wrapper around security tooling: analysts, escalation processes, ticket workflows, evidence packs and customer-facing reporting all sit inside the contract.
Who they sell to
Typical customers are mid-market organisations with security accountability but limited internal capacity for continuous monitoring and incident coordination. In London, the more plausible buyers are regulated financial-services, professional-services and digital businesses that need evidence of oversight, not just advice after an incident. Decision makers tend to include CISOs, heads of infrastructure, risk teams and finance directors, with procurement involved once access to sensitive systems is in scope. Contract value is usually linked to estate size and service cover. Sales cycles are shorter for urgent gap cover, but lengthen when buyers require assurance documents, trial monitoring, legal review and board sign-off.
What they buy
Most SecOps firms tend to spend on the tools and services that make analyst time more usable. Common categories include log management, endpoint telemetry, cloud security monitoring, case management, ticketing, automation, threat intelligence, vulnerability management and reporting. They also buy the less glamorous inputs behind a credible service: cloud infrastructure, secure storage, identity controls, audit support, privacy advice, professional indemnity cover, technical recruitment, analyst training and marketing that can explain trust without overclaiming. Suppliers with integration, implementation or managed-service experience usually have a clearer route in than those selling a generic horizontal tool with little evidence of fit.
Why and how to sell to them
Buying intent often appears when a provider wins regulated clients, adds analysts, moves from project work into retained monitoring or inherits tighter reporting obligations from a customer’s procurement process. Leadership changes can also open supplier reviews, especially where margins are being squeezed by manual triage, inconsistent evidence capture or slow customer onboarding. Outbound works better when it maps to operational pain: fewer handoffs during incidents, cleaner escalation records, faster customer setup, easier assurance responses and clearer utilisation of analyst time. Claims about generic cyber improvement tend to land poorly; these buyers usually want to see how a vendor affects a service desk, an incident bridge or a monthly review pack.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
