Blockchain Companies in London: 50+ Active Firms (2026)
Blockchain infrastructure companies build distributed-ledger networks, custody tooling and node services for organisations in London.
Buying centres tend to sit with platform engineering, treasury operations, risk, compliance and product teams rather than general IT procurement. Demand splits between enterprise infrastructure buyers that need controlled access to ledger rails, financial-services teams testing settlement or custody-adjacent workflows, and developer-facing businesses that need node access, identity layers, analytics or wallet infrastructure. Engagements are usually technical and diligence-heavy: pilots have to satisfy security, auditability and uptime requirements before moving into longer contracts. The London bias in the buyer set matters, because many prospects sit close to capital-markets, payments and digital-asset teams.
London has 58 actively trading blockchain infrastructure firms in this list, making it a small but specialist cohort rather than a broad software market. The group reports 615 employees, so the employment footprint looks closer to concentrated infrastructure teams than to mass-market application vendors. The commercial shape is uneven: some suppliers have moved beyond pilot revenue and formal procurement, while others still appear to be proving repeatable demand with financial-services, enterprise and developer customers.
Rules tend to bite less on the ledger layer itself than on the activity wrapped around it. Infrastructure-only suppliers selling node access or developer APIs tend to face procurement questions about resilience, permissions, audit logs and service continuity. Custody-adjacent, wallet, settlement and analytics providers sit closer to financial-services control functions, where buyers scrutinise safekeeping, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and operational risk. For London vendors, market structure is shaped by long enterprise sales cycles and cautious digital-asset adoption inside banks, asset managers and payment businesses.
London’s blockchain infrastructure cohort appears to be moving through a more disciplined phase than the consumer-facing digital-asset cycle that shaped earlier demand. Buyers tend to want plumbing that can be governed, audited and switched off safely, which favours suppliers with enterprise sales experience and credible security processes. Younger entrants may find proof-of-value work harder to convert unless it attaches to a settlement, custody, identity or analytics budget. Consolidation remains plausible where small infrastructure teams have useful code but limited route to market.

Key facts
About 12% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (7 of 58 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
18% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (11 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London demand is shaped by financial, legal and technical buyers that tend to test blockchain through infrastructure providers rather than consumer-facing applications.
Services in scope include distributed-ledger networks, custody tooling and node services for organisations that need to hold, move or verify digital assets.
Developer and node-infrastructure providers usually face a different sales motion from custody-workflow firms, because engineering buyers and compliance buyers ask for different evidence.

How London blockchain companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Blockchain infrastructure firms earn revenue from access to networks, APIs, managed nodes, wallet infrastructure, identity layers, analytics and settlement-adjacent tooling. Pricing tends to mix annual subscription or licence fees with usage charges for API calls, node access, transaction volume or managed environments. Where buyers need private deployments or integration into existing systems, implementation fees and ongoing support contracts often sit alongside the core platform fee. The commercial unit is usually an infrastructure layer rather than a finished consumer app, so early engagements often start as paid pilots, technical proof-of-value work or sandbox access before moving into production contracts with service-level commitments.
Who they sell to
Typical customers are financial-services teams, payment businesses, digital-asset operators, enterprise treasury functions, software platforms and developer-facing businesses that need ledger access without building every component themselves. Most contracts are sponsored by CTOs, heads of platform engineering, product leaders, treasury operations, risk or compliance teams, with procurement and security becoming more involved once production use is likely. Self-serve acquisition exists for developer tools, but regulated or enterprise buyers usually move through direct sales, technical workshops, security review and sometimes an RFP. Sales cycles tend to be measured in months, especially where audit trails, custody-adjacent workflows or operational resilience matter.
What they buy
Most London blockchain infrastructure firms tend to spend on cloud and network capacity, developer tooling, observability, security testing, identity and access management, key-management controls, backup and incident response. On the commercial side, they often need CRM, billing, subscription management, product analytics, customer success systems and technical marketing support, because usage-based infrastructure needs careful packaging and revenue operations. Professional services spend is usually tied to legal advice, accounting, tax, risk documentation, certification work and enterprise contract negotiation. Recruitment needs tend to centre on protocol engineers, security engineers, infrastructure operators and enterprise sellers who can work with cautious financial-services buyers.
Why and how to sell to them
Commercial pressure often sits at the join between technical credibility and enterprise adoption. Blockchain infrastructure buyers tend to evaluate suppliers when pilots move towards production, a new risk, product or platform leader arrives, a client security review exposes gaps, or a funding round, audit or enterprise customer win forces better internal controls. Outbound usually works better when it is anchored in uptime, auditability, cost control, developer adoption, compliance workload or shorter implementation time, rather than a broad digital-asset narrative. Sellers should expect technical qualification early, then a longer path through security, finance and procurement before a contract is signed.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
