OTT Streaming Companies in London: 100+ Active Firms (2026)
OTT streaming companies in London deliver internet video, audio and platform services for media owners, advertisers and audiences across the capital.
Commercial demand tends to sit in several buying centres: broadcaster and rights-holder distribution, publisher and advertiser monetisation, telecoms and channel aggregation, and direct-to-consumer subscription or transactional offers. Buyers are usually media owners, producers, advertisers, telecoms providers and publishers rather than general-purpose corporate IT teams. Engagements range from managed-service carriage and content operations through to platform licensing, audience measurement, ad operations and payment flows. The better-fit operators look like lean media-technology businesses, with specialist product, engineering, licensing, advertising and commercial staff supporting recurring contracts or audience revenue, not project-based creative production work.
London has 103 actively trading OTT streaming companies in this list, a small specialist cohort rather than a broad software category. Reported employment totals 1,165 people, so the footprint is visible but concentrated in lean operating teams. The commercial centre of gravity appears to sit around businesses that can combine rights handling, product delivery and monetisation rather than around pure content studios. A smaller revenue-scaled tail exists, but most of the cohort still reads as specialist operators selling to broadcasters, rights holders, publishers, advertisers and distribution partners from a London base.
Rights control shapes the operating context: an OTT service may need different clearances for live streams, archive catalogues, clips, music, advertising inventory and international distribution. Consumer-facing models also carry billing, cancellation, privacy, age-suitability and advertising-compliance work, while business-to-business platforms tend to face diligence from media-owner legal and procurement teams. Market structure is therefore contractual as much as technical. A London operator can look commercially close to a software vendor, a broadcaster services supplier or an advertising intermediary, depending on whether revenue comes from subscriptions, transactional access, ad-funded audiences or managed delivery.
Consolidation appears more likely around capability bundles than around audience scale alone. Buyers tend to prefer fewer operational hand-offs across encoding, distribution, rights, ad operations and reporting, which favours firms that can package services without losing sector-specific focus. At the same time, the cohort’s lean staffing profile suggests many operators remain exposed to project cycles and client concentration. Scale-up scarcity may persist where content rights or advertising relationships sit outside the platform owner’s control. The London base still helps with media, agency and rights-holder access, but pricing pressure from buyers is likely to keep business models fairly disciplined.

Key facts
About 8% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (9 of 103 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
13% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (14 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
London suppliers sit close to broadcasters, production clients, agencies and commercial buyers.
The sector spans video and audio streaming operators, advertising-funded media services, streaming platform providers and technical service businesses.
Rights ownership, outsourcing and platform licensing can make turnover a rough proxy for operating scale in OTT streaming.

How London OTT streaming companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Revenue usually comes from recurring platform fees, managed-service retainers, advertising operations, revenue shares, carriage fees, subscriptions or transactional access. London OTT streaming firms often sit between software and media operations: they handle content ingestion, encoding, rights windows, user access, payments, advertising inventory and reporting rather than simply building a generic video app. Pricing tends to follow usage, audience volume, channel count, catalogue size or managed operational scope. Gross margin depends heavily on whether the firm owns the audience relationship, controls media rights, or mainly provides technical and operational services for another media owner.
Who they sell to
Buyers are normally broadcasters, rights holders, publishers, telecoms groups, advertisers, agencies and specialist media distributors. Senior sponsors tend to be chief commercial officers, heads of digital, product directors, CTOs, content operations leads, ad operations teams and procurement, with legal involved where rights and consumer terms matter. Smaller publisher tools may sell through direct outreach or self-serve onboarding, while broadcaster, telecoms and rights-holder deals usually need a consultative sale, pilot usage, security review and contract negotiation. RFPs are common where the buyer is replacing a legacy video stack or outsourcing channel operations.
What they buy
Spend tends to concentrate on cloud infrastructure, content delivery, encoding, storage, monitoring, security, identity, subscription billing, payments, CRM, customer support, analytics, consent management and advertising operations. Rights-heavy firms also need legal advice, contract management, royalty reporting and finance workflows that can cope with multiple territories, windows and revenue-share arrangements. Lean teams often outsource specialist engineering, QA, localisation, design, performance marketing, search, recruitment and finance support. Sellers with relevant category fit should expect technical buyers to ask about uptime, latency, reporting accuracy, integration effort, cost control and the operational burden on small product teams.
Why and how to sell to them
Buying intent often appears when OTT operators launch new channels, add advertising-funded tiers, expand into new territories, change rights packages, move away from agency-built platforms, or try to reduce delivery costs after audience growth. Leadership hires in product, engineering, commercial or ad operations can also reset the vendor list. Useful outbound angles tend to be operationally specific: fewer hand-offs across content workflows, clearer cost per stream, cleaner subscriber billing, better ad-fill reporting, faster partner onboarding, or less manual work around rights and finance. Generic digital-transformation language is a poor fit; these buyers usually respond better to sector fluency and proof of low integration friction.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
