B2B2C Companies in the UK: 11,000+ Active Firms (2026)
B2B2C companies sell products or services through business partners to end consumers, spanning UK digital commerce and data-led channels.
Buying centres usually sit across commercial partnerships, digital commerce, marketing operations, product and customer experience, because the consumer relationship is mediated through another business. The buyer is normally a private-sector distributor, platform, retailer, financial-services provider, insurer, travel operator or subscription business, with public-sector demand appearing only where citizen-facing services use partner channels. Engagements tend to be mid-market or enterprise in scale: multi-team procurement, integration with payments or fulfilment, and ongoing work around attribution, consent, customer service and end-user conversion. That makes partner fit, channel access and operational reliability as important as the underlying product.
The UK cohort contains 11,147 actively trading B2B2C companies, making this a broad commercial category rather than a narrow regulated vertical. Reported employment totals 13,607 people, giving a direct staff footprint for part of a market whose commercial work also runs through partner channels. Revenue scale is uneven: 1,675 firms sit above £5M, while 607 have been incorporated since 2022, so the market mixes established channel operators with a smaller intake of recent entrants. For researchers, the practical split is often between consumer-transaction infrastructure and partner-led distribution models.
No single licence defines the category, so legal exposure follows the activity being carried out. Consumer-facing online trading brings CMA scrutiny under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act, particularly around unfair business-to-consumer practices and platform conduct. Data-led models also need to sit within ICO expectations: UK GDPR governs personal data, while PECR adds rules for electronic marketing, cookies and communications security, and can apply even when personal data is not being processed. Ecommerce operators also have to map consumer rights, distance-selling duties and rules for online intermediation, especially where the business partner controls the customer relationship but the end user experiences the service directly.
Further development appears likely to favour operators that can evidence consumer consent, conversion quality and partner economics without adding friction for the end user. The larger revenue tail suggests that scaled distribution partnerships already exist, but the cohort still looks fragmented across commerce enablement, marketing infrastructure, fulfilment and customer-engagement models. Consolidation tends to happen where partners prefer supplier consolidation and clearer accountability for consumer outcomes. Regulatory pressure may also push weaker propositions out of partner channels, particularly where consent, returns, complaints or electronic marketing practices are hard to evidence.

Key facts
About 15% of the trading cohort reports turnover above £5M (1,675 of 11,147 firms) — the rest sits below that revenue band.
5% of the cohort was incorporated since 2022 (607 firms), so a sizeable share is in its first few filing cycles.
Consumer-facing online trading can fall under CMA guidance on the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, including rules on unfair business-to-consumer trading practices.
PECR sits alongside the Data Protection Act and UK GDPR, with rules covering marketing calls, emails, texts and faxes, cookies and similar technologies.
UK retail ecommerce sales were predicted to represent 38.1% of total UK retail sales in 2025.
The UK digital economy is estimated to account for 13% of total UK GVA.
The UK digital sector has over 310,000 businesses and 2.93 million employees.

How UK B2B2C companies work and how to sell to them
What they do
Revenue usually comes from a mix of subscription fees, platform access, transaction charges, implementation work and revenue share with the business partner that owns the consumer relationship. Many offerings are software-led, but delivery often includes integration services, account management, reporting and operational support because end-user experience sits partly outside the provider’s direct control. Pricing typically follows usage, consumer volume, partner locations, order flow or annual platform access. Smaller operators may sell packaged tools into digital commerce teams, while scaled firms tend to negotiate partner contracts where service levels, data rights, attribution and liability matter as much as feature fit.
Who they sell to
Buyers are usually mid-market and enterprise organisations with consumer reach: retailers, insurers, financial-services providers, travel operators, marketplaces, subscription businesses and other channel owners. Decision makers often sit across the Commercial Director, Head of Partnerships, Chief Digital Officer, CTO, Head of Marketing Operations, Customer Experience lead and Procurement. Sales cycles tend to run for months rather than weeks where integration, consumer data, payments, fulfilment or complaints handling are involved. Lower-risk tools can move through direct sales or self-serve trials, but larger partner-led models usually require security review, legal negotiation, procurement checks and sometimes an RFP.
What they buy
Most B2B2C firms tend to spend on systems that help them win, service and evidence partner relationships. Common categories include CRM, partner relationship management, billing, revenue recognition, analytics, attribution, consent management, identity, customer support, marketing automation, fraud controls, payments infrastructure, cloud hosting, monitoring and security. Many also buy specialist legal, accounting and compliance advice around UK GDPR, PECR, consumer contracts, ecommerce terms, complaints and returns. Recruitment spend often concentrates on commercial partnerships, product management, integration engineering, customer operations and marketing operations, because these roles sit between the business customer and the consumer journey.
Why and how to sell to them
Buying intent often appears when a B2B2C operator signs a larger distribution partner, expands into a new consumer channel, adds payment or fulfilment complexity, changes commercial leadership, raises funding or faces closer review of consent, attribution, complaints or service levels. Pain points tend to cluster around proving partner economics, reducing integration effort, controlling cost-to-serve and keeping consumer experience consistent when another business owns the front door. Outbound angles usually land better when they are tied to a specific commercial trigger: faster partner onboarding, cleaner reporting for joint business reviews, lower operational leakage, or clearer evidence for compliance and procurement teams.
How this list is built
Data sources
This list is built from UK Companies House filings, XBRL accounts data, and semantic analysis of each company's public website. Revenue and headcount figures come from the most recent filed accounts; where the company has not filed, values are estimated using a model trained on filed history and peer benchmarks and are labelled as estimates.
Classification
Rather than relying solely on SIC codes, Firmbase classifies each company semantically: the company's website is crawled, an AI model reads what the company actually sells, and the company is placed into the relevant industry and subsectors. SIC codes are used as one signal but not the only one. This means a company that registered under a generic SIC code but pivoted into (for example) fintech is correctly identified as fintech, not as its original SIC category.
Freshness
The underlying company data is refreshed from Companies House continuously; filings appear in the list within days of submission. The curated list ordering is regenerated when the underlying data moves meaningfully (company count changes by more than 5%, a new company enters the top-ranked segment, or the filed-revenue numbers for the top firms change). You can see the last-updated timestamp near the top of the page.
